Antique Book. Unique Piece
Rare Books: Two volumes of the French Flora Atlas, initially published from 1867 in 25 volumes. The second volume is entirely dedicated to the cruciferous plant family, featuring 234 full-page plates. As for the twelfth volume, it focuses on composite flowers and offers 228 full-page plates printed using the innovative phytoxygraphic reproduction method, invented by Ansberque. This technique allows the reproduction of herbarium plates on lithographic stone from plant tracings. Each plate showcases intricately hand-colored floral details in gouache. Published by the Park and Gardens Service of the City of Lyon on January 1, 1868.
